LazyMarathoner - 2009-01-11 2:36 PM I'm planning a short run to the pool plus some extra on the tready, a swim and some steaming as well. I'm unfortunately under the weather again today so I'll keep the intensity low on all fronts. I'm putting a new saddle on my bike so I may do a short test-out trainer ride later tonight as well. I'll get in a strength session of some sort so I can move that challenge goal along. Due to my move and not feeling well, I'm falling behind. If I can't keep up, I'll just drop out. I don't want to drag the team down.

just do what you can K - we understand!

Thanks for the guidance guys.  I think it'll be a servicable tri bike considering I cheaped out!

I got to the gym and did the lamest bike session ever!  recumbant for 20 minutes with really really low intensity.  But, that was the plan so I'm glad I didn't push it.  Sat in the hot tub and steam room for 10 minutes each and self massaged.  I think I am going to get a real maasage next weekend!

Off to make some chicken parm!

Great run Beth!  That's an aggressive bunch of work Kris, don't go too hard!

I got in 4.24 miles of running, 1.24 to/from the gym and 3 on the treadmill. I did a quick leg session, then hit the pool. I could only do 1000. I was tired and the pool was ridiculously packed. I'm hanging it up for the day. Time to pack!

Pecan, it was my husband's favorite and I owe him one. He's coming to brooklyn tomorrow night to help with some plumbing and to install my new Elfa closet set up from Container Store.

Beth, how can you have never baked a pie??? You must bake a pie! I'm a pie wizard.

Well CHALLENGERS, the first week is done. Did you challenge yourself? Did you encourage a teammate to do a little more? Did you set your goals just a little bit higher? Did you push yourself - within reason - through the stuff that life throws at us? Keep up the awesome work, everyone. Remember, teams are TEAMS, everyone is in it together, for better or worse!

No standings this week. If you are super curious about percentages, look at the spreadsheets yourself. Every team is working hard, and that's what matters. Some interesting notes, though - three of our four teams have at least one person who has already met 50% of at least one of their goals. Some of these are due to tapers, vacations, etc. toward the end of the month. But if you are already over 40% even, take another look at that goal. Can you do more? One more swim? Ten more miles?

Each of our teams also have at least two 0%s. Again, maybe you knew the pool wouldn't be open, or you needed to wait for a doc appt to see if running was on tap. No problem. But if you just haven't gotten to something yet, get it done. Putting it off will only consume your brain and waste your body. Tired? Sure, we all are. Out of time? Who isn't? But once you bust out that workout, you can check it off your to-do list, and free yourself up for that all important summer race schedule daydreaming!

Push yourself. Push your teammates. Embrace the CHALLENGE!

Howdy Beth. Today is biking and strength and major dog walking. I have a dog that I have to make up to for leaving her so long. Tonight the DH comes home for two days!! That will be good but hard to take him back on Wednseday.

Beth.. You have never baked a PIE!?! Lawdy, Lawdy, Honey! There is nothing easier and it will make you feel like a domestic goddess- maybe not normal though..

Afternoon all!!  How is everybody doing?

No running for me either today, my hip is sore.  I used to think it was because of my fibromyalsia, but (no pun intended ) now I'm thinking it may be something else.  I need to do a bit'o research, and maybe visit the hot tub.

Hi teamies! Sounds like everyone is getting some great training in!

My run yesterday was beautiful and fun... until about mile 8, kind of torturous after that   Mostly I think it was a fueling problem, and I just haven't had any hills to run lately so I'm out of practice. I'm taking today off for a rest day and going to REI tonight to check out the sale I'm also going to increase my run goal as I'm already at 49%. I'll change it to 100 miles for the month. That'll be my highest mileage month ever by far!

Have a great day all!!!!

Ok, have been doing a little bit'o research and already what I am reading totally describes me.  The problem, I think I may have a weak butt.   So I am in need of some good glute excersises.  I am thinking that this might be the cause of my hip/back and maybe knee pains.  It still amazes me how the body works.   One area/muscle not doing its job and it throws everything off.  I think I need to really work on my abs/back and rear.  Anyone have some good excersises to target these areas?
