I somehow missed this thread...think it's because my boss has me working like a dog during the day, that I haven't had much time (or energy) to go on the computer when I get home.

I am in...not sure yet what I'll be running timewise yet. If I run with my cousin who is a lot slower than me, I'm just going to take it easy. But, I am hoping to see her at the finish and try to run at a decent pace and see how all of my stretching/strength training for my iliopsoas injury is going to do on my first road race...I am REALLY praying for no pain, and I am trying to remain optimistic!

Would love to meet up.

Since I am on here, I have 2 questions for all you peeps...

1)How do we find out if we are in a starting corral or just in the open?
Being that I ran with my cousin last year, I'm assuming I'm in the open, but not sure.

2)On the BT site, do you have to be a specific level of membership to be able to have other bt'ers blogs listed on the left side of your page? If not, how do I do that then? I like how on some of the bt'ers pages, they have the links to other people's blogs right there to click on and look at.

Thanks!

I'm in again. After a brief hiatus from Shamrock Shuffle, i'm back and ready to go. I've seen this race grow from nearly 500 people at Fsoter Ave Beach House in 1983 to the monster it has become now. Over the many years of 'dragging' my kids & family down to the race, my daughter has begun to enjoy running and last year she flew in from Minnesota for the Shamrock Shuffle and we had a great time. Needless to say, same plan this year. Arrive at Ohare at 10:55Am Friday - i'll pick her up - we go to expo for our stuff, then do lunch and have a great weekend.

jschmitchicago - 2008-01-31 4:46 PM Jowisc and I are in.  And I'm in the "open" wave unlike everyone else.  I wonder if all those BTers who told me they'd run in the open wave with me, but are now in corrals, will stay true to their promises?  I'm actually kind of regretting my decision to sign up for this one.  Maybe we can at least get good weather?

I'm running with you like I promised I would. And lets call it what it is...its a fun run. This is not a race. I'm in it for the palling around and breakfast. Now that's what we should be talking about - where we goin for some tastey vittles!

C'mon people I just browsed through the thread here and we are forgetting what waits at the end of this massively crowded, hilarious, great people watching event................. THE BEER !!!!
That cold Michelob Ultra dark beer last year was the best tasting beer ever. Don't get me wrong, it's the best beer ever it's just the timing after a race that makes it taste better.

So where is the BT meeting spot? Has one been picked.

Sad isn’t it? I am going to go outside tonight and try to acclimate to running in this weather. It is supposed to be in the high 40's later in the week. That’s not that bad but still not great. The meteorologists here at my office are predicting (pretty much guessing) that the weather is probably going to be in the low 50’s for the race.

When are you all going to be in town. We could have a BT gathering on Saturday night at a bar near the race. Or we could meet after the race. Or we could do all of the above. Either way I'm doing all of the above since that's my 'hood. I can arrange a meeting place the previous evening or after the race.

Are you bringing a bike? If so I'm down for a ride.

Tony...I want your dog!!! TOO CUTE!!

I just want weather in the 50's. Last year was a pinch too warm...2 years ago...too cold.

This year has to be just right!

have to pick up my daughter at Ohare Airport friday noon, then heading to expo. I won't be back in Chicago until Raceday. A post race meeting would be great since most likely we'll be aorund the beer tent if weather is nice.

I couldn't agree more.  But if this week is any indication, I'm not holding my breath.

The meteorologists here at work are saying it “should be around” 53 on race day. I asked what their margin of error is/was but they kind of shrugged it off.

I'll be happy with anything over 45...as long as it stays dry.

I'm over this warm up...then snow/rain pattern we've been having.

You can't have my dog!!!

OK here's what we need to do. The race ends on Columbus near Balbo, which is right by Buckingham Fountain. I say we all meet up on the south side of the fountain. I'll try to fashion some sort of a BT sign or something to indicate where we are. No blow-up Zima bottles or nuttin' but I'll get something. I have a Dallas Cowboys flag, but that might get shredded by the roving pack of angry Bears fans still bitter about last season.

Anyway, I'll think of SOMETHING and post it here on Wednesday, March 26.
