Champion 34263 Chicago | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K OK folks ... I may be at packet pickup, but only if Whizzzz says it's OK for Trixie to drag me along. IF I'm allowed to go, we should meet at Navy Pier (since trying to get to any other place will be as much of a logistical nightmare) at noon (since that's what time some people are already going to be there) on Saturday. What: Packet Pickup Where: Navy Pier When: Saturday, High Noon Why: To see Trixie and Whizzz first, but hopefully not last, kiss. Who: I fu**in' said Trixie and Whizzz, listen up aholes! (Sorry, off my meds.) How: I'm thinking `with a little tongue' ... Does this work for the majority of people? |

Expert 968 Wellington, North Island | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K mr2tony - 2008-03-19 3:42 PM OK here's what we need to do. The race ends on Columbus near Balbo, which is right by Buckingham Fountain. I say we all meet up on the south side of the fountain. I'll try to fashion some sort of a BT sign or something to indicate where we are. No blow-up Zima bottles or nuttin' but I'll get something. I have a Dallas Cowboys flag, but that might get shredded by the roving pack of angry Bears fans still bitter about last season. Anyway, I'll think of SOMETHING and post it here on Wednesday, March 26. Some of us were talking (but I'll only out myself) and meeting by the fountain, whether before or after, could be pretty tricky. Tons of people will be meeting there. We'd probably have better luck finding each other if we met at the corner of Jackson and Michigan afterwards. The crowd is a lot less there. Sooo ... just throwin' it out there. I think the unnamed 'us' that I've referenced are looking at doing that. Edited by MissKelly 2008-03-25 7:24 PM |

Champion 5495 Whizzzzzlandia | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K Saturday is OK for me. I'm going to aim for Noonish @ the Expo. I will PM my number to you guys so in case I get lost, detained, arrested, or GODKNOWSWHAT, I'll be able to keep you all in the loop. And perhaps you can use all that money for bail, Tony. Oh, and BTW, I will approve the accompaniment of Goggs. Only if, of course, he wears his goggles. Then we can do lunch!!??! I am thinking we can hook up with Laura, Jen & Jon, Kelly, etc etc... I don't see why not? If not at exactly noon, maybe a smidge later? At least for FOODAGE? After we've eaten and kissed, I will return to the suburbs... to spend a wee bit of time with my dumpster, and wait for CindyK... I can likely deliver the race packet to Cindy as well, Laura... let me know your thoughts on this... She is probably going to be staying with me on Saturday night, and we will drive in together for the race on Sunday. SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY.... we can meet where-ever... just as long as you tell me where. After all, it's going to be YOU GUYS doing most of the waiting. I will be spending my "wait" time running. As far as breakfast on race day... (I tell you, it's all about the food...) The concern is that the downtown restaurants are going to be too crowded and difficult to get a seat... a couple of weekends ago we went to Wishbone after the wacky snacky and it was WONDERFUL... I have no idea where it is in relation to anything, so I will let you city folk figure it out. I'm pretty much up for anything, though... so just let me know. PRAY for nice weather. PUHLEEZE!??!?? I wanna wear my skirt! |

Veteran 246 Racine, WI | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K The weather doesn't look great right now 45F and maybe showers. Anyone to go expo on Friday? I'll be there about noon. Pre-race meeting Sunday? Last year we went to this awesome place on Clark st. It was pretty small - so not condusive to large groups. But great food and atmosphere. http://www.chicagopizzaandovengrinder.com/menu.htm Be safe this week, train smart and taper well. Steve |

I've seen 5 different predictions. Then again, if I remember correctly, the same thing happened last year. They were potentially predicting snow and it turned out to be the hottest day of the year to that point. I don't think we will be that lucky this year. I just hope there is no precipitation. It can be as cold as it wants. Just no rain or snow. Please. Pretty please. With sugar on top. |

Champion 34263 Chicago | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K OK as the Buckingham Fountain idea has been quashed, we can meet on the corner of Michigan and Jackson at about 10:30-11??? There are several good restaurants in my 'hood (Printers Row) only a few blocks from there. We can go to the Plymouth Cafe, which is like a greasy-spoon type with skillets and bacon and eggs. Yum. Or to a Bar Louie in the south loop. We'll definitely get a seat at those two places. Or the aforementioned pizza place. We can decide at the rally point. So ... Corner of Michigan Ave. and Jackson St. between 10:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday morning work for everybody??? |

Pro 3906 St Charles, IL | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K mr2tony - 2008-03-28 10:43 AM OK. Saturday, Navy Pier, noon works for me, Ms. Whizzz ... Core is racing that day??? Not racing either day. Saturday, I've got a 1h25 run in the AM. I think we're kidnapping Trixie and throwing her in the pool. Then we head down to the Expo around noon'ish. Sunday, I've got a looooong trainer ride that I'm starting at 5am ( I've got about 4 hours to ride ). Plan is to finish that and then head down to meet up for the post-race festivities between 10:30/11. I figure I'll be pretty hungry by then, so food will be good, and I won't be too picky about where. |

Champion 5495 Whizzzzzlandia | Subject: RE: LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle - 8K We are, in fact, kidnapping both Trixie and Robyn and throwing them both in the pool @ LTF. Then we are going to come down to the expo. That should put us there a wee bit later than noon. Does someone have your phone number Goggs? Do you have my number? I will PM it to you. Do you have to present yourself to the expo exactly at noon? Wanna wait for us? After the race, we are going to head over to WISHBONE in the west loop. The address is 1001 W. Washington. We went there a couple of weeks ago after WACKY SNACKY. It was AWESOME. You will not be disappointed. If you want to join us at Wishbone, meet at the corner of Michigan and Jackson on the South East corner (Grant Park side). Chris is going to meet us there, after he peels his sweaty red bike off his sweaty black bike. Heh. That's the plan. Stan. See you there. I'll have my camera. Make sure you smile for the pictures. |

Trixie has my number. Are she and Robyn picking you guys up on the way through? Just give me a call when y'all are on your way down and I'll meet you at the expo whenever. I can be to Navy Pier in 10-20 minutes depending on if I ride my bike or run over yonder. I'll likely ride, though I don't know if that's wise because then I'll have to cart my bike around and whatnot. I'll just run over there. SO give me a call when you're about 20 minutes from Navy Pier and we'll hook it like Kareem. |
