Here's Brooke's response regarding the mystery object...

Hi gang,

I can't help but smile as I receive emails and read posts about the mystery object.  We sent it to you basically to hold your 'stuff'.   We generally use the 'Alta Bowl' at events and shops use it at thier register to hold single packets of GU.  We thought 'what the heck?' and threw one in with your shipment.  Yes, they do look like portable dog dishes, but I can't promise that they will hold water well!  Hope none of you have been up all night tossing and turning wondering what to do with the Alta Bowl!

I still think it's odd that it has a pocket on the bottom of it and the Gu logo that runs around the outside is upside down, but whatever...

Gu stickers came in a little white envelope.

Maybe my alta bowl was a factor reject...I'll live.

Mine came in today as well.  The wife called around lunch and let me know.

Got home, tried the outfit on and was really happy with the fit.  It is not as tight as last years and is very flexible.  But it does seem crazy thin!

What I like most is that the logos are not screened on, they are part of the clothing, much nicer than last year!  I'm also digging the slightly longer top so that when I'm over aero this year the top will not ride up and give me that vicious sun burn like I got at Eagleman last year!  The pockets on the side of the jersey and not all the way on the back are pretty sweet as long as they do not pull down to the front when loaded up and you are aero.  It will make reaching back much easier now!

And they gave us a bike mount gel bottle this year.  I never got mine last year even though we were supposed to.

I'm pretty much stocked for the year now for my gels and hydration!!  Now I just need to start really training.

Hrm, I might have chucked the envelope, I'll go look in the trash. Just think, it's always the misprints and factory screw ups that are worth millions on ebay

I am lazy and still haven't gone to look in the trash. However, I (like you) am only 5' tall. I think it's just another part of teh World Conspiracy Against Short People.

Just like the no small tri bikes, and mirrors that are too high to even see yourself in. Don't get me started

 

p.s. all races are in CA. hey, if a see thru tri top gets me a date with a cute tri boy....

 

haha! It is annoying!! Even in the petite section, I have to get pants hemmed! I know I'm short, but come on! I have found very few 44cm tri bikes, ughh, why couldn't I be 5'3''?? Life would be much easier!

Hey Shorty, I got mine on Tuesday.  Brooke is out of the office for the rest of the week.  If you don't get it by this weekend, send her a note.

hmmmmm, wonder if she will send me stickers??  I WANT STICKERS!! I'm sure I'll miss out on the cool bowl, too,  as I'm not part of your team, just sponsored by GU themselves. 

Any tattoos in there?? I like the tattoos. 

Matt, did you say you did NOT get stickers??  If you end up with some wanna pass a few to your good friend trix??   

Of course I'll share.  I'll ask Brooke to send some when I swap my uniform.
