Comments:

My mission for this race was to pace Mike and Alan thru their first marathon. Mike's blood sugar was high to start the race so he wasn't feeling well from the get go. We tried a run/walk, but he was feeling bad, so we started walking quickly (14-15 min/mile).

Mike stopped to pee in the woods around mile 13, meanwhile Alan and I found some portajohns. In the confusion, Mike thought we left him and he started running to catch us. Alan and I were running 8:00 min/mile to find Mike. Kinda funny, felt good to run a bit and stretch out the legs.

At mile 19 Mike's sugar was WAY low and I found a medic and got some glucose tablets. The medic told us we were 7 minutes away from being picked up by the bus. Mike didn't have enough steam left to push faster, so he told Alan and me to go ahead so we could finish. By this time Alan's knee was hurting and I had massive blisters on the bottom of both feet. We ran 9:30's, then walked when we were in too much pain. We would set a point to run to, then bribe each other to walk.

Coming around Epcot was great because we knew we were almost done. We tried to run all of the park, but didn't quite make it. We wanted to have enough juice left for the finish.

At all the dj's, bands, speakers or characters we were cutting up, goofing around and having a great time. We made sure to run when we knew there were photographers around too. We stopped and took pictures with most of the characters along the course. Alan even tried to drag Donald Duck along with us!! I got to pet a sheep at the back of Animal Kingdom, but the handler wouldn't let me borrow him. I was sure I could ride to the finish line.

Hey...is that your unit making that noise???
What would you do differently?:

Not a thing. Mike gave it everything he had, Alan finished his first marathon, and I laughed my ass off for 26.2 miles. It was a long day, but awesome!!
