Hey all,

I'm a newbie in Alpharetta and have registered for my first sprint at the Tri the Parks event at Tanner State Park in April.

I'm just curious, when the temperature picks up a bit, where do you practice your open water swims? Are there any places that have distances marked off year round? Don't get me wrong. I certainly love the warmth and clarity of my gym pool. From what I have read so far, it would behoove me to practice in open water regularly if I can.

Thanks for any suggestions!

IF the lake has water...

Mary Alice Park is right up the road from you (google it)

Otherwise we go to Eagles Landing (?) at Lake Allatoona

I think practicing the OWS prior to your first race is cheating!
You should do like I did and freak out...

btw, my wife and I are doing this race. Hopefully we'll see you there.

Hey Doug,

Yes, I'm prone to freaking out and would hate to slow everyone down by drowning. Just kidding. Hope to see you there as well, but imagine I'll be a bit behind you guys. You're one of those Veteran types.

Go Dawgs! - Workin on my MBA there.
