Hey all.  I just registered myself for the Blackbear Sprint and have a place up at Split Rock.

I would LOVE to be able to meet BT'ers somewhere before the race (early morning) near the transition area to get a few minutes video interviews of BT'ers doing the race - then followup with some post race video interviews.  To put together a nice video segment for the homepage.

Let me know...we should have a BT banner somewhere near transition to meet.

Can't wait to see ya...

I'm coming up early on Sunday morning, so I will keep an eye out for the banners.  I'd love to meet some of the other BT'ers

Good luck everyone!!

501 for the half (including aqua bikers) and 527 for the sprint! The funny thing is, we've had about 50 people sign up for the half in the last couple weeks but the number of entrants stayed almost the same because so many people have switched from the half.

The water was 60 on Sunday morning but the forecast is calling for some warm days this week so it should warm up a few degrees by this Sunday.

Trucks are being packed as we speak (or as I type)...we're psyched for a great weekend!

Good luck to everyone racing!

I plan to be at pre-race checkin on Saturday 12-6pm, you should see the banner, stop by...if you're racing we can get a few pre-race interviews as the morning of the race may be too busy.

I'm racing the sprint, so make sure you stick around after the race, when I'm finished, I will be back at the banner to get some of your sprint and 1/2 IM thoughts.

Congratulations to everyone who raced the 1/2 and sprint yesterday!

Also wanted to thank Larry, his team, and all the volunteers for a great event.

Figured I throw out a couple comments/suggestions.  Seemed odd to have the sprint start first.  Didn't bother me at all as one of those racers, but I would think that some of the 1/2 participants might have appreciated getting even just a bit of the cooler morning temps (still darn hot by 8:30am for our run ) and getting off that run course earlier.  And second, more trash cans/bags.  I know, minor detail and it's not like I couldn't find someplace to dispose of trash.  But I always seemed to be hunting for one that wasn't already stuffed.

Other than that, there wasn't much that I saw at least from the sprint side that was lacking.  Intersections were well policed and course directions on both the bike & run were quite clear.  Plenty of aid stations and volunteers on the run.  Good post-race spread--loved all the fruit.

The only other idea would be to figure out how to flatten that hill from the water to T1.

How did everyone do? I was pretty surprised with my results-- esp the bike because I did the course 3 weeks ago and in 4hrs and yesterday I knocked more than 30 min off!  Might not seem that impressive, but this was my 1st half and 2nd tri!  Congrats everyone!!

Yeah last year was a good setup and this year was even better. The Redrow's do a great job. NJ State is another great race (and very flat!) But the minor changes for this year were a nice improvement. Nice job everyone
