Run
Comments: hahahha. oh my hell. I started out too fast because I thought, hey, mile and a half... Dude. DUDE. My stellar 99th out of 153 fastest run ranking says it all. HA! Soooo slippery and awkward on the snow and ice. Transition 1
Comments: Opted to keep my running shoes on for the next bike segment since it was so short. Bike
Comments: Well, the 4" of new snow was interesting. It didn't bother me all that much except that my legs were already wiped out from the little run! I was cautious around the end loop, but other than that I was ok keeping upright. Did a little better than the run here... 40th fastest bike, not the greatest, but ok. Transition 2
Comments: This was quick. Just threw my helmet off and ran for the course. Run
Comments: Just kill me now. Seriously. This was a lonely lonely run all by myself in the back... That was probably best since I was slip sliding all over the place. I almost fell on my a$$ twice. Funny how I make it through the bike segments without trouble but I end up being completely unstable on my own two feet! I didn't walk, so I consider this a victory. Yay! I had the 109th fastest time on this run segment. SWEET! :) Transition 3
Comments: Chose to change shoes for the bike. If I was going to make up any time at all, I thought it would be a little easier with a full pedal stroke. I lost a fair amount in transition, but I sure felt better on the pedals. Bike
Comments: Two laps of the course we rode the first time. People around me were much slower and I was hurtin from the run, but I did my best to push hard and try to redeem my ugly run times. Saw Mike at the turnaround and was worried he would LAP me! No way in HELL I was going to let that happen. Saw Katie as well, but couldn't close the huge gap she put on me during the runs. This cracks me up... you ready? So, she was 2:33 FASTER than me for a 1.5 mile run!!! ahhahahaaaa. Oh my hell I suck and she is fast. And for the 2nd run segment she was freakin 5 whole minutes faster. oh hahaha, whatcha going to do but laugh? Not nearly enough time/distance on the bike to make much of these times up. So she was clearly victorious in our 2nd face off. Kudos... Transition 4

Comments: Took me a whoppin 45 seconds to rack my bike and slip around in the snow in my bike shoes to the finish line 50m away or so. Hilarious performance on my part. Post race

Awesome turnout for BT!! And WHO IS THE MAN???? That would be DREW! Why? Because he willingly watched my kids out there in the cold so that I could race. Is he not the best ever???? He is. Go tell him. Last updated: 2008-01-22 12:00 AM

Decided last minute to do this one for sure. This is how it went: Mike and I sittin on the couch with Katie on the phone the night before... Katie and I convince Mike to take his tri bike so he could go all out on the course. Next morning, we wake up and head out, cold but pretty morning.. we drive across town and get closer to Cherry Creek. All of a sudden I look around and go "um... dude. It freakin SNOWED over here!" We roll into the park in disbelief and sit in the car forever debating if we should even do it. I felt TERRIBLE that he only brought his tri bike. ugh. After much wide eyed staring at the snow... we registered.
Did not do my usual routine, instead I just kinda got ready and got the kids ready to go. Didn't even check out my bike. Made sure I had my running shoes and lots of warm clothes...
What? Who does that?
