Pre-race routine:

Got up at 0530. DH had to get up for work. Had coffee, RS picked me up at 0640. Ate Luna bar on the way to the race. It was raining. Fabulous! Picked up race packet. Sat in RS's car for 60+ minutes to stay warm.

Comments:

Walked up the hill. I did not want to slip on the rocks and get hurt. When I got to the top of the hill my forehead was freezing and I was getting a headache. I need to try wearing a hat. At one point I was trying to run and I was sliding to the right, off of the trail.
What would you do differently?:

Cannot do too much about Mother Nature.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

rain and more rain

Event comments:

This race was $40. It was an expensive t-shirt! It would be worth doing the 15k if I were in the points race. But too pricey for a 5k. It was fun, but do not know if I will do it again.

You're right...a $40.00 entry fee is a really expensive tee shirt.  Great job sticking it out in the rain

$40 for a 5K wow that is steep!  But way to get out their and race despite the conditions.  I wear a techwick hoodie when I run, it helps keep my head warm, but not overly, doesn't have any constricting elastic, and I don't have to carry it when I peel it off.  Give it a try.
