Total Time = 1h 07m 34s
Overall Rank = 141/317
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 2/9
Pre-race routine:

Packed car, drove down the hill, ate oatmeal on drive, signed up for race, set up transition. Saw and hung out with Kylie, Mike, Bjorn, Lisa and Karen.
Event warmup:

Walked around, sucked down a gu and water less than 5 min to start (way to close to start).
Swim
  • 02m
  • 100 yards
  • 02m / 100 yards
Comments:

This was the last event. My muscles were a bit fatigued but after the first 25 yards my stroke was fine. I just swam a consistent relaxed pace.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Transition 1
  • 01m 47s
Comments:

This was run to bike. Changed shoes, threw on helmet and outta there. I got a great spot in the transition that was close to the entrance and exit.
What would you do differently?:

Lock laces. Had to untie my double knots on my running shoes
Bike
  • 36m 21s
  • 9 miles
  • 14.86 mile/hr
Comments:

Enjoyed this ride. I tried to push myself but didn't go all out. Practiced the aero bars as much as I could. I am finally getting comfortable with them.
Transition 2
  • 01m
Comments:

This is bike to swim. The time is just a guess. Racked bike, tore off helmet, socks, shoes and ran to the pool while tucking my race belt into my shirt pocket. A little tough because Kylie and Mike were finished with the race hanging out as I came through.
Run
  • 27m 35s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 52s  min/mile
Comments:

A lot of good runners out there. I was chatting with Bjorn the first half. I tried to focus and keep my form. I was pretty far back but got a great personal time!
What would you do differently?:

Forget the gu right before the start.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, a little stretching (should have done a lot more). Water and 1/4 grain bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mentally didn't feel like going all out. But I did push myself at times in the race.

Event comments:

I like this smaller local race. I am sure I will do it again. It is for a great cause and it is awesome seeing all the kids doing their first tri!!!
