Pre-race routine:

I worked at the bar until 2:30 the night before which means that I wasn't in bed until 3:00am (not good!)... but I was able to sleep until 10:00, eat a bowl of cereal, veg out with my boyfriend, eat a piece of lasagne at 12:30, and then head over to the race around 1:00.
Event warmup:

We had just enough time to pick up our packets, jog them back to the car, and then jog back and get a good stretch in before the race started.

Comments:

The run felt great... there was a pretty decent amount of runners (which provided lots of motivation!).
What would you do differently?:

I definitely started off too fast. I need to pace myself more in the beginning of the races and then speed up towards the end because I definitely ran out of energy towards the end of the race. I should have also worn shorts (I wore running tights and a short sleeved tech tee and I was still pretty hot).
Post race
Warm down:

I walked around for a bit, found Chris, and then we loaded ourselves up with water, a juice box, and a slice of papa john's pizza (yum!). There were a TON of sponsers at the race that were giving away lots of yummy food and drinks!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Starting off way to fast in the beginning...

Course: The course went through the streets of downtown Raleigh/Peace College. There were three pretty big hills and lots of twists and turns but overall it was a great course.
