One of my favorite things about the pool I go to is that they have a urinal literally five feet from the shower. It is awesome because it prevents crap like that.

since there has been 21 views and only one response I'll go first...

I've gone in the pool once, but only casue it wasn't the normal pool I go to and I didn't want someone to steal my lane so mid lap, I just went.

Maybe it's just me but I thought it was pretty normal for guys to pee in the shower? I find after any workout I'm always drinking lots of water and staying hydrated and then as soon as I turn on the shower I ALWAYS have to go. But don't worry I aim it directly down the drain.

I can honestly say that as an adult, I have never peed anywhere except a toilet, in the woods a few times, and in very large bodies of water (lake, ocean).

this topic should be made into poll form--I'm sure you'll get more honest responders.

I pee in the shower because apparently it fights off... warts? or was it athlete's foot... Anyway, apparently it's supposed to be some level of protection for your feet. Probably one of those deals like red wine or chocolate. It's good for you one week, bad for you the next.

I don't pee in the shower at the gym as I don't think someone in the shower wants it running over they feet but will in a pool with out thinking about it.  The pee to water ratio is pretty low I am sure and the clorine will probably kill off anything bad anyways.  Now if someone is standing right next to me I won't do it but in a fairly empty pool why not.  I figure if they did not want you to Pee in it they would call it an OOL.

Before this post, I would have said anyone who says they have never peed in the pool was lying. But with everything else in that post, why lie about peeing in the pool!?

For the record, I have never peed in a public shower and I have a tiny bladder.

In the shower is nasty at the gym, and I wear sandals always there, too many naked old men for my taste.

I have never urinated in the pool. As for the shower, come on the urinal is only a few feet away! I have never seen anyone urinate in a public shower. On the other hand, peeing in my wetsuit is always the last thing that I do before a race starts.

I have never seen anyone pee in a public shower. I did see a guy working up a mean number 3 by himself in the corner last summer. I gave up on that gym.

For the record, this is why I prefer to use the womens shower, well, no, it's not, and know this, when you get caught they kick you out and take away your membership with no refund!!

Really, you can't walk 10 feet to the gym urinal to pee?

Pool - my private pool, yes, as an adult in a public pool?  No.

Shower - private, of course.  Public... you're kidding.

Do I even want to know what a number 3 is?

I have never, ever peed in the pool as an adult. I never plan to either.

I have peed in a lake, many times now that I think about it.

Poop is for the toilet, with no exceptions except dire emergencies.

Honestly, I peed in the pool when I was a college swimmer. When your coach says you have about 1-2 minutes until you have to be back in the pool there just wasn't time to run to the bathroom and some coaches wouldn't let you leave the pool unless you had to do something other than pee.

We have a pool at home and my wife and I were suspicious of our 5 year old (at the time) peeing in the pool. No matter how we brought it up he would always deny deny deny while looking you in the eye...

Then I heard about some sort of chlorine additive you can add to a pool that supposedly turns color when it comes into contact with urine so I asked the local pool store and they said no way. But I continued with the idea at supper when we were all seated around the table. I brought it up that I recently added a chemical to the pool that will tell me if someone pees in it. I was thinking that would stop anyone from doing it anymore but that was it.

However my youngest in a shaky voice looks at me with his big brown eyes and says: "Dad, I've peed in the pool (long pause) lots of times." Obviously he thought the additive would tell me who HAS peed in the pool....

My wife and I both almost spit our food out we were so caught off guard.........

Priceless moment...
