Comments:

run felt good. was looking at the garmin by pace vs hr the whole time and loved to see 8's and 9's as my pace. :) was breathing a bit heavy, but figured it was 2 miles (ish, a little less) and i'd get my breath back on the bike...so pushed it harder than i normally would've. not sure of lap times b/c they don't have the breakdown on the website and silly me forgot to program the garmin correctly. i know i was in the 8:45 ish pace for first lap as that's what the garmin calculated...past that, it's all unclear b/c of short lap vs. biking instead of running. it's all sorts of messed up! :)
What would you do differently?:

nothing. thought it was great.

Comments:

first time the aero bars were in use and LOVED them. :) tail wind was fantastic. felt very speedy!! head/cross winds were brutal. not so speedy. felt great on the bike though. was able to pass a lot of people and did get passed some, but by the gamers with the loaded up tri bikes and wheels. :) felt like they were supposed to pass me, so didn't get too frustrated with it. felt great blowing by some peeps though, loved that feeling. again, winds were brutal. but sooo fun. and everyone else was battling the same elements, so can't really complain.
What would you do differently?:

nada.

Comments:

not as speedy on these two laps as i felt on the first two, but it's because i had just jumped off the bike. legs felt jelly-esque only for about the first .5 mile, after that, i got into a pretty good rythm (for me...ha) kept the garmin btw a 9:15 ish pace and a 10:45 ish pace depending on wind direction. again, for me, that's improvement...used to be in the high 11's and used to have to walk. never walked this round. made me feel good. granted, it was only 2 miles, but hey, baby steps.
What would you do differently?:

zip.
Post race
Warm down:

chatted with docshock, sporty sue and rgill. had a blueberry bagel. then headed to ihop for some yummy breakfast...mmmmm.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

wind wind wind. other than that...i did the best i could. was fun.

Event comments:

thought it was fun. great venue. fun race for the beginning of the season and was greatful that there was no swim involved due to temperature. :) was great.
