Comments: Started out really fast and after about 100m I glanced behind me and there were at most only 10 people. I settled into a rythem though and slowly moved up the field and was able to finish really strongly. What would you do differently?: Be more prepared for the fast start. Post race
Warm down: Sat down and felt really sick for about half an hour. When you are used to spending 2/3/4 hours on the bike at low intesity running at such a high intensity all of a sudden is a real shock to the system! What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of race specific training. Really ill the day before. Event comments: I thinks the mile is a really awkward distance to race. Anything less than a mile (&1500m) you can just hammer as hard as you can and anything longer you can settle into a rythem. With the mile I felt that I no sooner had I settled into a good rythem that I had to sprint to the finish line. I definatly want to train properly for a mile at some point and aim for sub 5 mins.
