Comments: From the start my legs were heavy and just didn't want to turn over. I kept thinking after the first couple miles they would loosen up and be okay. Well, they did loosen up but never to the point of good racing conditions. I was pretty comfortable for the first half of the race. I tried to push it after the turn around, and thought I was...until I looked at my splits. Nothing really out of the norm or special to say. I had a good mental game the entire race. Constantly assessing and re-assessing where I was. In the first couple miles a lot of women passed me but I held back (although not sure that was a good idea) and knew I would see them again. I did. After the turn around I started realing them in one by one. That is always a fun game to play. That's when I really started to "race" even though my legs were not playing nice. All in all it was a good race, just not my best. What would you do differently?: 1. A lite spin or swim instead of 3 days off prior to the race. 2. Not eat 4 big slices of pizza the night before. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and cheered people in to the finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: My legs. They just didn't want to turn over. Last updated: 2007-12-13 12:00 AM
