Comments:

From the start my legs were heavy and just didn't want to turn over. I kept thinking after the first couple miles they would loosen up and be okay. Well, they did loosen up but never to the point of good racing conditions. I was pretty comfortable for the first half of the race. I tried to push it after the turn around, and thought I was...until I looked at my splits. Nothing really out of the norm or special to say. I had a good mental game the entire race. Constantly assessing and re-assessing where I was. In the first couple miles a lot of women passed me but I held back (although not sure that was a good idea) and knew I would see them again. I did. After the turn around I started realing them in one by one. That is always a fun game to play. That's when I really started to "race" even though my legs were not playing nice. All in all it was a good race, just not my best.
What would you do differently?:

1. A lite spin or swim instead of 3 days off prior to the race.
2. Not eat 4 big slices of pizza the night before.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and cheered people in to the finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My legs. They just didn't want to turn over.

This is a measurement of how far you have come as a runner, in one short year.

1:59 in 2007

1:46 in 2008

Same difficult course. That says a lot. Great job, Great race, whether your legs played nice or not. You proved that you know how to do this, and do it well.

Awesome job, especially for not feeling primed and ready...like Felix did with the '08 TTT (vs '07), you killed your '07 time.  Very nice!!

PIZZA????!!!! There better not have been any Coke with that! Hey, great race though. I'm impressed by your year-to-year improvement on the same course. Says alot for your current training and your overall experience. Always great to see a training pal do well. Congrats on a smokin' 1/2.
