Comments:

Generally those that register early, get later start times. I registered in December. Unfortunately a week before the race I found out I had to work Saturday afternoon so I had to request an early start. Of course they hooked me up and I was the very first rider out. No big deal, and it was 20 degrees warmer than last year. Just sucked I couldn't stick around.

I was the first rider off the ramp and went out rather conservatively but still maintaining 90+ RPM and 25 mph until the first long rise. I was pretty amazed that it only took 2:45 seconds for me to be passed. The running joke was that I was the overall race leader for 2:45. Last year It was almost four minutes, however I was pleased that I got passed less this year than last. The turnaround seemed tighter than last year but it posed no problems. I felt pretty strong on the return trip, but kept it consertative untill the last two miles, where I just pushed as hard as I could. I did improve over last year by over 2 minutes and I'm pretty pleased about that. I was dissapointed that I was not under 27 minutes. My goal was 26. I didn't think that was too lofty. I have come to the realization that I'm just not a great TTer and it is a slightly humbling since I'm not used to finishing that far down in my age catagory at races. Doesn't matter though. It was a great event, beautiful day, with awesome friends. Who could ask for more. I'll continue to do this event every year.
Great NAMSC crowd!

What would you do differently?:

Nothing.

Nice work, David! You know.....if they held a time trial at the Gaps, I'm sure you'd be one of the leaders.
