Also over 3 days I did my times for the individual events. Slightly disappointed I didn’t make the distance in the swimming and think I have a bit of work to do on the bike still and need to try doing them one after each other!!
Anyway 7 months to improve.

Swimming 750m: 17min
Cycling 40km: 1:26min
Running 10km: 42:10 min

Way to go...great that you've now 'made the commitment'.  Consistent and smar training will see times in all 3 disciplines come down...7 months is a looooong time, I have no doubt you'll make marked improvements.

One small step for John, one giant step for John....  The times you now boast are very good after only 3 months of training.  With seven more months to train, I feel that you will do exceptionally well on your first tri.

Nice one John!

I'll be there as well, but in the slightly older age group at 35.....I have some sprint tri's under my belt but this is likely to be only my first or second Oly. I'm told the flat course makes for fast bike and run times, if you can keep out of all the crowds!

I assume you're in the UK as well, so where abouts are you located?

I'm looking forward to it. Saw the highlights from last year and looks great. I saw them cycling past the houses of Parliament on empty roads and there seemed to be 1000s of spectators

I'm in Cambridgeshire, so I'm use to the flat. You are living in Bucks?

Thanks for the encouragement. As I now actually have to enter this I'm going to need the motivation to keep training.

p.s. I was planning on entering a couple of sprints before hand but this will be the first olympic triathlon I enter.
