If I leave little room for debate that suggests I am arguing my side well - I put up an opinion that the article referenced was not as 'undecided' as the OP thought - and why - simple post.

The fact you considered that an 'argument' makes it difficult to have a debate with you.

debates have arguments

or have you not watched any of the current presidential ones

oh, and HTFU

to which Rick put up a picture of a dead horse being beaten and the author of the original 'don't take it personally' thread replied quoting him with a big HAHAHHA....

Well, I must be pretty obtuse, because I actually have a hard time seeing how Tri Take Me Away's laughing at the 'beating a dead horse' picture is representative of her taking anything personally. Rick's picture was funny (to some) because oh dear lord have we heard the arguments for and againt ST for endurance athletes a million and one times.

I don't really see how that's pot calling kettle black. Maybe more pot calling kettle funny. Anyhoo, whatev

What's the record for time from first post until a topic is pulled?

Just a reminder that, no matter where you went to school or how sure you are of yourself, not every dissenting opinion is a personal attack. Treating it as such will get the thread yanked, and the person warned and possibly banned.

(s) Live and Learn

does that include when the Big Ten plays football against the SEC??

Sure, but that's fact (the inferiority of the Big Ten), not opinion.

sad but true as this Ohio transplant has reluctantly come to the same conclusion

I believe 2008 is the year of the dawg....

I'll agree this upcoming season is looking good for the dawgs (drives me nuts being surrounded here in Savannah).....but as far as big 10/SEC......last 26 meetings.....B10 has won 13. SEC has won 13.....(granted last two in BCS title game)....but......THAT superior???....meh

PennState - 2008-02-28 2:57 PM Hey, I'm clueless... what thread got pulled?

I think it was the Strength training one, but I'm clueless too. Apparently we missed a good argument, Fred .

No real argument as the majority of the posters were just having fun and talking about all sorts of other off topic things.  Some just take the topic uber-personal.

chriselam - 2008-02-28 2:00 PM What's the record for time from first post until a topic is pulled?

I'm pretty sure we've had single-post threads pulled. So the record would be zero additional posts, or one total post.

(pulling out dusty old BA in English from U of Iowa, 1984)

OK, I'll add to the chaos here.

As I've noted in the past, this is an extremely limited form of communication. We can't see facial expressions, tones of voice, we've probably not even MET via either email or phone the bulk of the people on ANY internet forum we frequent.

So, the style of how people write is not necessarily indicative of anything, without more context to add to the communication. (shrug). I'm a good writer, and I've gotten banged upon here and in other forums because my words were also read/interpreted much differently than how I typed them.

I think we all need to take a deep breath, sing kumbaya, and drink some of this Grape Koolaid. It is delicious...

GFY

Cool

Yeah, but everyone knows that RED Koolaid has much faster absorption, tastes better and all the pros use it!

If you would just listen!

Josh: "You're not LISTENING to me, you're not understanding me!"

Toby: "I AM listening to you and understanding you; I'm also disagreeing. I can do all three at the same time"

I heart the West Wing.

What were we saying? You can't possible get  better at this sport without weight lifting? Got it.
