February's totals:
Bike:17h 50m  - 285.33 Mi
Run:6h 29m 33s  - 33.5 Mi
Swim:

1h 19m  - 3134.03 Yd


This was a new PB for me for time/distance on bike. Run was a bit less than I hoped, and I finally got pool situation straightened out, so here's what I'm hoping for in March:

Bike: 22 hrs or 350mile

Run: 60 Miles

Swim 20000 yds.

I never have volume goals; I just do as I'm told. But, for March, it would be nice to be able to run...

I started the balanced 16-week Oly plan on Feb. 6 and managed to complete all but one workout according to the plan.  I am pretty happy about that!  I also got out on five bike rides OUTSIDE after a very long, wet, cold, gray winter. Lovely!  Now, let's see if March can be even better!

Pretty pathetic showing on the bike and swimming.  I was hoping for my 1st ever 100+ mile/month of running, but a sore foot last weekend cost me 2 days of running that would have put me over that threshold.  Regardless, still the highest monthly running volume for me.

February turned out to be a very nice month for me. Yeah, it included some B/R training, but the real news was that  I can swim again. About Mid-Month my Ortho released me to swim. I did some easy swim workouts in the pool and everything felt great.

Yesterday, I did my first Ocean Swim (~1.2 Miles) and felt really strong. I don't feel like I have lost much swim fitness after 4 months of no swimming. I have to say that I am one lucky kid. ~11 Weeks Post-Op with a full recovery is a far cry from the prognosis of 4-6 months.

I have an HIM at the end of March and I don't think the swim is going to be an issue. Just need to put some intensity into the bike in March and I am ready to rock.

Oh, and for the casual observer, this volume appears to be a bit over the top for HIM training. I am also base building for Ironman CdA in June.

Bike: 600 Miles
Swim: 20,000 Yards

February includes a 3.5 day tri camp and a half mary.

Goals for March are to be at least 3.5 hpw running, swim 3x/week and between the trainer and bike commuting, hit 4-5 hpw in the saddle.

I'd better see massive increase in March over February...since I went on the shelf on Jan. 29 with runner's knee and am just now coming back...

With marathon out of the way tomorrow...and assuming I don't screw the knee up too badly running it...HIM training kicks off. Upped the swim volume a little today...but it's the bike that's due for the big increase. ::gulp::

I had a goal of swimming 40,000 yards in Feb, which I made plus some, and I've been able to negotiate a truce between my bike seat and my hip, so I was able to get a little cycling done:

February's totals:

For March I plan on maintaining the swimming and slowly building up my cycling tolerance.

February was good after a terrible Dec/Jan. Finally feeling back in the swing of things, and happy I got over the 300/100 mark (just barely).

March goals:

Run: 150 miles
Swim: 6000 yards

March I want to increase everything (lol). Shouldnt be too hard if I follow my plan closely (which I failed to do this month). Need to swim much more.

As some know, I got a Grade III AC separation (basically, tore all the ligaments holding my clavicle down to my shoulder blade, now the clavicle sticks up, called a "step deformity and I am lobbying for a cooler name... gross, I know, but welcome to my life) in a early morning bike accident on 2/5 training for IMAZ.  I thought IMAZ was questionable, at best. 

Apparently I used some of that HTFU medicine, as I was back on the bike on the trainer at day 4, running on day 7, biking outside on day 10, and swimming on day 12 and am up to 4K workouts.  Overall, I almost matched my January totals, even with the time off from the AC sep.  I consider it a very very very good month under the circumstances  One more build to IMAZ.  I am so ready to go!
