I need some good ideas for pulling an April Fools joke on my boss. Our whole team wants to play a classic joke. We can't touch his computer, but we will have access into his office. We have thought about the balloons etc. Any other classic pranks?

open a can of fumigation spray in his office.

how severe are we talking?  You could have someone dress up like a Sherrif and serve him a subpeona.  Send him flowers from "another woman."  Or are we talking that you full his office with shredded paper to the point where the door won't open...

I once hooked up a compressed air can so that when my coworker pulled her chair out, it depressed the button...hooked to the end of the can was an container of confetti...basically the effect was...pull chair out and confetti sprays up into your face....I also did a similar thin where we hooked a bucket of confetti above our bosses chair pulling out a ceiling tile to do so...then a string ran under his desk, up the wall into the ceiling so that when he moved his chair, it tipped the bucket over onto his head.  The bucket was on a pivot, so it was not able to fall on top of him...it was actually a very small light plastic container that looked like a bucket.  but plenty of confetty fit inside it.

I will try and attach pictures but if not.   Cover office with post it notes or fill with packing peanuts.

I was going to suggest the Post-its.  Someone beat me to it while I searched for the photo!

The peanuts is the BEST!

I know you said you can't touch his computer, but a classic and one of my personal favorites, is re-arranging the keys on his keyboard.  I'm so glad my office has a lock.

You could also put a strip of tape on under his mouse over the track ball.

Like the packing peanuts or the post it notes, fill the room completely with balloons.

Or get rolls of yarn and basically spin a spider web through the office.

Time - We could have up to 12 hours if needed.
Budget - Would have to get the whole team to pitch in. Let's say $50.

I like the post it notes and the conffetti. Thanks for all of the ideas so far. These are great.

Be sure to remove the lightbulbs from his office as an added bonus. Can anyone get access to the power box and trip the breakers to his office? Unplug his phone jack just enough to disconnect the phone but enough to make it look plugged in. Remove the wheels from his chair or replace it with a crappy lobby chair. Photos of Borat in his his dayglo manthong would look nice in place of his regular framed pics. Would make nice wallpaper for his puter too. A small dab of vaseline on all the things he will need to touch to conduct his day goes a long way.
