Swim
Comments: This sucked. I never found a rythym, swallowed/breathed-in water, almost got hit by someone coming the other direction on MY side of the late...twice! Got passed by 3 people. HR went through the roof. Need I say more? What would you do differently?: everything Transition 1
What would you do differently?: Need to mount shoe holders so shoes can stay on pedals Bike
Comments: Felt fatigued from pool, had hard time getting my breath and lowering HR, and worked hard for moderate performance. What would you do differently?: Not suck at swimming so much Transition 2
Run
Comments: Calves cramped in first 1/4 mile, and felt like I was going to puke until 1.5 mile mark. What would you do differently?: go faster? Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: HR spike early and pool issues cascaded to derail race through most of it. Had to make up so much time on the bike, and wasn't aerobicly ready to. Event comments: I guess I have to wait an entire year for a do-over. Last updated: 2008-02-27 12:00 AM

Got transition ready and went for a "warm-up" ride with team. This quickly turned into some sort of friendly race, but only for about 20 min. Milled about trying to shoo the sand gnats (no-see-um's), and then did a couple of laps in the pool before my start time.
