OK - It's official.  I'm addicted to triathlon and I have to accept that fact.

My wife wanted me to stop off at DQ last night to get her a peanut buster parfait (to celebrate).  So I got that for her and you know what I got for myself?  NOTHING!!!!  No dilly bar, no French Silk or Oreo blizzard, nadda, zip, zilch.  I know something is wrong if I can walk away from a blizzard.......

THEN, I woke up early at 5:45 to get my swim in - WTF?  I HATE getting up early, and will sneak off for 15-30 minutes early for lunch just to fit a swim in during the day....

Thanks for wasting a minute of your day reading my attempt at humor!

That's not a triathlon addiction, that's just stupidity.

It ain't the triathlon.....

It's food, man, you eat it, it makes you move....don't make it a fetish.

My wife and I hit DQ abiout 2-3 times a year....medium chocolate dipped cone...it keeps the world spinning on the right axis.

I have been getting my SO stuff at fast food places for years.  On weekends he likes breakfast burritos from either McD's or Carls...I am more than happy to pick up one for him before I go to the gym.  What is really difficult for me, is when I am starving and we stop someplace and he starts eating it in the car.  "Why don't you just pour some lemon juice on my open wound while your at it".

Yeah, just you wait until the wife gets the bug and you have to manage multiple training plans in the same house

Shoe orders and trips to the LBS get quite interesting when you have to buy 2 of everything.

Wait... so your super model wife, who is trying to lose 15 pounds has a peanut buster parfait (possibly the world's perfect food). But you, who is exercising 10+ hours a week, and more importantly, not trying to lose 15 pounds in the next month, doesn't have one?

I'm confused.

I don't think you need an intervention, but then again, I don't like ice cream.

Well, I don't like ice cream just for the sake of eating ice cream.  I like a little with birthday cake, but have never understood the concept of just eating a bowl of ice cream or a cone.

I'm with you on the amazement for getting up early.  In a matter of 3 weeks, I've become a "morning" person getting up to get to the pool and back home before my sons even wake up.  As I commenting in my training log last week, it is a very wierd sensation to yawn while swimming...

It's a long story - she got it to celebrate because she DIDN'T need to lose weight.  She went back to the production company to get her initial weigh in, but when she walked in, they were "OMG! we got you confused with another girl!  You don't need to lose weight at all!  We are so sorry about the mix-up."  So, after investing in a trainer who provided her with a nutritional plan and workout plan, we find out she doesn't need it!  SO, DQ to celebrate.....

BTW - I ALWAYS needed to drop 15 lbs!  If I can get to 200 to 215, I will be SOOOO fast!

Sweet! That makes a lot more sense. So, did she get the job? I missed the news.

No sense putting in all this traiing if I cant indulge once in a while. I enjoyed a Mint Oreo Blizzard (albeit a small) last night, and it was glorious.

I got up at 4:30 AM to swim and will ride an hour tonight.

It is all about balance!

She had actually planned on dropping 15 lbs for the job?!?!?

Not really.  Our plan (yes, I helped her decide) was to go into the initial weigh in, get weighed, and then "demand" for more details of what they wanted.  To hit a number or if they are looking for more definition, some toning, whatever.  Then continue with her training to get a little more cut.

Well, when she walked in ready to give her speech, they realized they made the mistake!

A little relief....

I didn't share the news - kind of wanted it to die since I didn't need to deal with all the judgmental people.  However, they asked her to do promotional gigs for them.  To go out in public and represent the show.  But since it's in public, no toplessness.  My SO is even happier because it keeps her schedule more open, gets to keeps her top on, and is still part of the organization....

I guess I'm in the minority here... but I eat bad food when I'm in full on training mode. Not a regular basis but I do get a treat here and there.

I can't do that in the off season because I'll gain 5 pounds just looking at it.

But when I'm in season... OH! I can eat tons of food and not gain any weight. It's wonderful.

Of course, I only do it when I know it won't affect a training session.

I don't get people who say, "I can't eat ______, I'm in training.". WTH???
