Pre-race routine:

Hard time finding parking. Got to race area 25-30 min prior to start. Trouble finding timing chips. Walked and stretched. Felt prepared to run but a little heavy. Got to starting line moved to 12 deep position. Very crouwed. 8 seconds from start to line.

What would you do differently?:

Get to race early. Drank a little too much pre race. Stomach felt heavy. Slightly easier (10-15 sec) first mile.

Walked to Alamo with family along the route

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough short speed work. Great endurance not as fast as I would have liked to be. Need to focus on the distance when training.

Did not get good splits after 1 mile 7:17 Mile 2 around 14:50 Moved to edge of pack and moved up faster that I probably should have. Felt great for first 2.5, last half was a gut check. HR was around 164-167 till last half. Saw up to 170 before I stopped looking.
