Jog up and down the street and parking lot for 5mins. Got in the pool when my group was called and swam maybe 100yds
Swim
  • 08m 56s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 47s / 100 yards
Comments:

I felt good in the pool. I passed 2 people in front of me and caught another at the ladder. I didn't meet my goal of 8mins to the mat though. Time to join a masters swim.
What would you do differently?:

Go harder
Transition 1
  • 01m 3s
What would you do differently?:

I need to get tri shoes, leave them on the bike and dump the socks.
Bike
  • 38m 23s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 19.43 mile/hr
Comments:

Missed my goal of avg 21mph. I've been burnt out on the bike lately and haven't been riding much. Need to HTFU
What would you do differently?:

Train more on the bike
Transition 2
  • 00m 46s
Comments:

I got my left foot out of the shoe while on the bike but couldn't get my right out. I did a 'cross dismount at the line, ripped of my other shoe and 'cross carrried/ran w my bike thru the TA. Some jackass got in the way while I was racking the bike and cost me a couple of seconds, but other than that T2 was good.
What would you do differently?:

Avoid the jackass
Run
  • 22m 24s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 12s  min/mile
Comments:

I beat my goal of 23mins.I should have pushed harder as I thought I had farther to go than I actually did.
What would you do differently?:

Hit the gas sooner
Post race
Warm down:

fruit and water and walked to my truck to change. Just beat the rain and sleet!! Hung around to cheer on the other QCTCers

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training

Event comments:

The finish was anti-climactic, there wasn't anybody around as the rain was moving in. The MAP volunteers scattered as soon as the rain hit. I felt bad for everybody left on the course. Post race activites sucked, but that was expected for this small a race. I know where I need to work and now it's time to get ready for White Lake Half.

Overall a good start to the season. The very best part was watching all of the other QCTCers race and finish, as well as all of the folks that come into Inside Out Sports. They really had to put up with some rough weather and I'm proud to be associated with all of them. Everybody had smiles as they finished and their enthusiasm is contagious.

Great job Keith!  I know you're disappointed with your swim time but look how much you improved over last year.   And that run split -- OMG!  That is awesome!
