I felt like I was working hard at the beginning and made myself slow down so I wouldn't run out of energy too soon. I was taking notice of people passing me and mentally telling myself I needed to keep up. I found a few people that I tried to pace myself with and just pushed as hard as I could without having to slow down. I was SHOCKED to see that I was third in my age group because it was a pretty big 5k, about 1400 people and I really thought there were way more people in my age group ahead of me. I was excited to get hardware!

Got some water, went back to the finish line to find my dad.


That was a PR for me in a 5k race so I am pleased


I enjoyed the race and was pleased at the after race events. I was on the committee that helped get the restuarants on board that brought the food. I thought it turned out well and we had lots of food and there was music. I hope we can continue to expand the restaurant participation and neighborhood involvement in the future.
