I guess that's one of the benefits of being single...

At least if she goes with you there is a lot for her to do there.

single guy hi-jack

Once upon a time a guy asked a girl 'will you marry me?" the girl said "NO!!" And the guy lived happily ever after, played poker, did triathlons and drank beer and farted whenever he wanted.

The End

SINGLE GIRL HIJACK....

Once upon a time a guy asked a girl "will you marry me"...The girl said,  "No".  She went on to have girls nights, watch chick flicks, never have to worry about the toilet seat, do triathlons, and own as many pair of shoes and  cute purses as she wanted without any bs, and had the whole closet.... and lived happily ever after.

THE HAPPY ENDING.

Sorry about the hijack, I'm done.

No, she is actually proud of her bodily functions unlike most women, especially burping.  I have seen her get standing ovations when she lets one fly.

Yes it is very impressive.  Except she does it in front of our 4 year old and he has taken up the skill.  Now he want to burp everywhere.

trust me, I would like it cool, too.....

Here's an example for ya...At Timberman (with 3500 athletes) we go through about 5,000 lbs of ice. For Longhorn (with 2000 athletes last year), we went through 16,000 lbs of ice.

2 of our staff got heatstroke....we were exhausted and running on fumes by the time we actually got to the race days. Setting up for 5 days, 18 hrs a day, in that sun and heat just killed us. Honestly, it's one of the reasons the crew vetoed having the sprint this year. It was just a brutal week last year.

Hoping for a normal low 80's day.... Then, we can get the crew back on board with having the sprint

And you're trying to encourage people to do this race?? JK!! I'm doing it, so some of us must be crazy! I did a run on Sunday in 96 degree heat. It was brutal, but I survived. I would like it to be a little cooler for a HIM, though. Why can't the swim be last?

We can't bribe mother nature, unfortunately. Let's just hope for the average low 80's.....

We're getting ready for Mooseman in NH this weekend. They're talking 90's for the weekend!!!!!!! Of course, it's 60 today

I guess we all have to prepare for whatever raceday brings us. Could be perfect, could be hot/cold, windy/calm, rainy/sunny....It's all part of the game.

I'd love all of the races to be 75 and sunny, with no wind and calm seas. Alas, we've had very few of a "typical" day....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say because they don't want half the field to drown from cramping up.

^^^^X2....

I did a reverse sprint tri this past December, and about half of everyone that completed it complained of calf cramps in the water...that was a sprint, swim was 350m in a pool.  A lot of people were hanging onto the wall for several seconds between laps...

that would be the only way I get into the top half of the field though

Yeah, I'm sure. They do have reverse tris, though. Makes sense in Texas.

I think I'll go ahead and not run a half mary PR 12 days before this HIM and see if I can beat my time from the Playtri HIM in April.

    Brilliant.

    Keith,

Any updates on the number of spots left? I'm on the fence as this is 4weeks before IMFL and I fear I'll have a hard time not racing.

If there are only a few slots left maybe that will be the incentive I need to register.
