Whats the deal with almost passing out when you stand up? What does having a low RHR have to do with it? This doesn't seem good...

There have been a few threads this week about it. Good or not, its pretty common around here. My guess... its from lack of donuts.

Stephen T - 2008-04-01 9:18 AM I personally love chlorine - I consider it a free full-body cologne!

And when it wears off, it just takes a splash of water to activate it again!!

Beer, donuts, peanut M&M's, burger and fries...so many bad options! No matter what the new studies that come out say, you are going to die someday and you might as well enjoy of some of life's good food. I mean seriously, if you don't live a little and eat some things that THEY say are bad for you, what is the reason for all the training? I'm sorry, but all you people that eat chicken breast and salad every day and night kill me. Unless you have a serious problem with fatty or sugary foods, why would you deprive yourself? I understand moderation, (I live by it) but it seems that it might be worse for you phsychologically to not eat some bad things than to fight with yourself over eating one donut or a handful of M&M's.

Just my rant, hope you enjoyed it!

The whole reason I tri is to get rid of the doughnut around my waist. Just for fun sometime I would like to rund the last mile of a tri that I am not entered in and eat a oughnut while really halling just to see the look on peoples face as I passed them. they do not have to know that I only did the last mile only that I use glazed instead of gels.

I use Jelly donuts instead of Gu. I just squeeze the jelly into my mouth as I run...works great!

I can eat sweets (especially chocolate) but I cannot stomach donuts anymore. There is something about eating more salads, fruits and vegetables which changed my ability to eat fried foods and the like.

I don't have donuts very often but when I do, I have a process for eating it.  I make a conscious decision to have it and enjoy it and I refuse to feel guilty afterwards.  I eat it very slowly and savor each bit and think about how each bite tastes and think about how much is left.  I don't eat it while I'm doing other things because that would distract from the enjoyment of the donut.  I want to be aware that I'm eating it.  I would only feel guilty if I mindless ate a donut while watching TV, reading a book, working on the computer or something like that.  Because the donut would be gone and I would think, wait a minute, where did it go, did I really eat it, what did it taste like, I think I need another.  Similar to when my cat chases a fly or a spider, catches and eats it and then starts looking around to figure out where it went.

My favorite donut is a Winchell's Cinnamon Roll followed by a Krispie Kreme.  Fortunately, there is not a Winchell's or Krispie Kreme in my town.  The last two times I had a donut from Starbucks, it made my stomach upset.  I don't know if it was because of the grease or all the sugar.  It's sad that I don't enjoy just any donut as much as I used to but I guess that makes it easier to avoid them.

Some Donuts For You.

I don't think I am being very nice.    I just had breakfast though and it was not donuts.  A whole wheat bagel and hard boiled egg for me.

Now, that's a donut I could sink my teeth into ... and I wouldn't have to worry about calories ...

As I sit here eating my salad and yogurt (and LOL!) I wish I had a donut like that for dessert.
