bhoover10001 - 2008-04-24 8:53 AM Seedings are up. I'm seeded 195th Geoff 43rd Julie - 145th Woo woo!! I can be sipping coffee until 7:30!!!

I'm seeded 2nd! WTF? Then, I went back to my reg and realized I mistakenly put est. 4:00 swim time when I should've put 8:00! Yikes! I wonder if I should email the RD?

Edit: I just emailed the RD, and hopefully they can re-seed me back.  I'd seriously hate to bottleneck the real swimmers for the first 8 min. of the race.

You may try, but I tried to get my time changed since I am sick and they said that you will be fine, that people will pass you if they need to...so, more then likely you will have to stay at that seed! you will be finished with the whole race, but the time I get out of the pool! good luck!!

I think there were a lot of mistakes in the top seeds. My daughter is seeded 8th with a 4:54 entry? Last year, she passed up seeds 2-5 by the second lap. Payam Saljoughian almost did a flat 4 last year, swims for UC Santa Cruz, and he's seeded 5th?

But I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as you stay to the right. Emily Rollo, seeded 16th, is probably seeded with about a 6, so.... you probably won't be passed by that many people. Just stay out of the way of my daughter She needs all the time she can get in the swim.

Roger, wilco!  Wow, she swims a 4:54 400m?  I don't think I could block her if I wanted to.  By the time I knew she was on my ankles, she'd already be passed me!

Anybody else doing this seeded-swim thing for the first time?  All my races have been OWS up to now.  I suppose that's why I had a brain-dead moment when filling out the reg. form--not realizing the est. time would be used for a seeding!  Live and learn.

Julie, et al,

While you're waiting on pins and needles for results; here's the 2007 results from OnYourMarkEvents.com, if you want to see how you stacked up to last year's racers.

The 2008 results should post here when completed.

Just received a reply email from Mark at onyourmarkevents.com.

Apparently, the delay in Results posting has been caused by three factors:

- onyourmarkevents.com had 4 events this weekend (not particularly sympathetic to this one...staff appropriately

- Moraga Tri apparently did not advise onyourmarkevents.com of some of the Race Categories they had instituted.

- One Racer started out-of-sequence in the seeded pool swim...requiring a resorting and recalculation of all the results afterwards.  (That racer should be DQ'd per the Rules btw...unless of course it was a result of an error by the Race Staff...or unless it was me.

No estimated availability of Results either...

just got a call from Mark who was with the timing group....results will be posted tonight and will have the so-called glitch fixed in the results. He cheated and told me mine, so I posted a race result...but want to see it on paper, because I do not have my split times..not that I want to see how long I was camped in the pool! Congrats to all you guys! GREAT RACE...was fun meeting you all!

That's me...the eeker.

BTW, Geoff, I think we should all place 3 (or more) higher in OA rankings--as I think the Relay teams should be excluded from OA rankings.

Congrats everybody! Great BT representation out there!

Funny story. On Sunday, I met a couple people from work to ride the three bears.   As I was getting my bike ready a old codger stopped by and said "hey were you on the bike race yesterday?"  I responded yes.   He started to lecture me about the cyclist during the race.  He said that one of the cyclist was partially in the lane and he said that he started honking eight or nine times to get the guy to move over...  It was all I could do to keep my mouth shut....

Beating my daughter is my not-so-secret goal. If I would stop giving her a 5 minute head start, I could take her. Of course, she also wiped out on the bike just before the turn around... so... it might not be as close as it looked.

I'm with you.  Two of my kids started the tri thing this last year.  They started to trash talk my wife and I.   The first time they swam with us, it was long course at heather farms and my wife did a 100. She turned back and they both hanging onto the lane lines at the 50!  It was one of those moments where I though "youth is no match for old age and treachery!"

In all fairness, your daughter has the ability to be an excellent triathlete.   If she sticks with it, it won't be long before she is dusting all of us!

Right now, she's focused on the swimming. But it's good that she's found a second sport that might not take as much time as hard core swimming, once she moves on. Just imagine what she would can do once she starts running and biking more than 4 times all year
