Good job everyone who participated! I didn't go, but I'll see some of you at AA next Sunday. Will the infamous tent be there?

Hey it was fun meeting some of you!  It was great watching all of you race.  Even my girlie on my back and my girlie in the jogger enjoyed the race!  It also got me way excited for the Ludington Lighthouse! :

I discovered this thread the day before yesterday's tri, and didn't get a chance to post pre-race.

This was my first tri and I had an amazing time! It was so inspiring to see all of the beginners and meet people that I knew outside of racing (even an old friend from the 4th grade!). The race was really well organized overall.

I look forward to meeting you all and hopefully training together with the Lansing group before my next tri (Big Fish). Your discussions in this thread helped to ease my mind and boost my confidence before the race, and I finished much better in the standings than I had even imagined possible. Thanks BTers.

This is great!  All sorts of new BT'ers are coming out of the woodwork.  Welcome all!

Farra - Keep an eye out for a Big Fish thread.  We'll probably have a practice day out there.  The course is a little different, and a little bit of hill training is nice for the end of the bike leg.

I'm sorry. I'm too impatient to link each of these individually.

Thanks for posting the pics, Matt! Sorry we couldn't stay for much longer after the race...

Question: whose leg has the "concave feature" on it - and how did it happen?

I had SO MUCH FUN on Sunday!  It was great to meet you all.  Matt...thanks for setting up the tent.  It was great to have an area where we could all hang and mingle.  You all made me feel very comfortable and helped to ease my nerves before the race.

I look forward to seeing you all while training and at other tri's this summer!  Great job to everyone!

Wow! That sucks...

But good thing you had Kroger's Vegetable Oil spray. Works wonders on this sort of thing

'Hope it's better now.

With everyone PRing or near PRing their run, I'm wondering if the course wasn't marked short?

Don't mean to on your parade, but it's been known to happen.

Other than that, great job out there everyone!

That's unpossible!  Race directors never screw up, well, except for the swim distance at this one.....

"With everyone PRing or near PRing their run, I'm wondering if the course wasn't marked short?"

I am personally celebrating everyone's run PR's.

I actually was right on my training pace(not a racing pace because my goal was not to walk even through the water stations, which is a huge accomplishment for me) for the run and it felt just a little longer than 3 miles. It was a nice flat straight run which could've accounted for the PR's. We only had one mini hill and about 4 turns and some down hill area.

Give yourselves credit and enjoy your successes!

Here are a couple that I think I recognize.  The last two are me on the bike.  The first is travelmunky.

I'm using this forum to publicly thank the beautiful and caring SweetP for all her support and willingness to put up with my training for Hawk Island and Steelhead. As Trixie will tell you, I'm a real piece of work and SweetP somehow manages to not only tolerate but encourage me day in and day out.

I know how she tolerates you, she drinks wheat grass. If she keeps drinking that crap she will soon shatter your 3 mile time

Great race! I had so much fun! I was around the BT tent with Trix, but never saw anyone over there...oh well...next event (AA Tri or Motor City).

Trix...I'm still bitter about your friend who did the individual start instead of the group...40 seconds and I could have got 3rd Overall...There's a faboulous picture of me trying to find my zipper on the wetsuit...(stuck in my hair)

Travelmunky's finish line photo is great.  They should use that as the promo shot for next year.  Seriously.
