Pre-race routine:

Woke up 0500. Ate a breakfast of egges & toast with cofee.
half and hour before race ate a power bar.
Event warmup:

Light jogging and stretching
Run
  • 2h 38m
  • 13.1 miles
  • 12m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

Did a run walk method. Started off running around a 11min mile splits for the first 4 miles then slowed down. Simply wasn't feeling right. slowed pace down and felt much better and able to sustain a 2.5 - 3 minute jog with 1 minute walks.
What would you do differently?:

Try to stay health and TRAIN MUCH MORE!!!!
Post race
Warm down:

A couple of stretches & 2 pieces of pizza washed down with 1 beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Feet got really sore. Blisters under toe nails on both feet. Last 3.5 miles really uncomforable.

Event comments:

Really liked this event. All the volunteers were great and cheerful. aid stations were spaced every 2 miles. For this time of year and temps I think that was suffecient.
