Pre-race routine:

My night was not that great, but about 100 times better than Z's night. This AM when she did not want to go run I refused to go w/ out her. I was not really doing much to prep for this race; I just ran the marathon last week. My legs were about 90% recovered, I just wanted to beat the 1:30 mark today, and my previous PR was 1:35 (minus a good workout a few weeks ago were I ran 1:30)
Event warmup:

I don't think I did any pre-race warm up, I even did a crappy job of stretching out. I was cold, so I bounced around a bit to keep my legs from getting chilly.

What would you do differently?:

Not run a marathon the week before, warm up better, eat better prior, get more sleep and run faster...
Post race
Warm down:

Froze my @ss off waiting for my buddy for about 25 min.

Performance: Good
My first two miles really sucked as far as bouncing around people, but I think that made me run faster, I was really speeding up every time I saw a gap, I would just shoot through it; hence the 15 min 2 mile time.
Course: I made it to mile 5 at 38:52 and realized that I could make a sub 1:20 time, this was mind boggling to me; so from that point on my goal was 1:20. By the time I got to mile 6 I felt really sluggish and my pace dropped off. Mile 7 I felt a bit on inspiration (only 3 miles, EASY) and picked up the pace a bit. I made it to mile 8 at 1:03:45, so I knew I could run each mile at 8:07 and make a sub 1:20 mark. Mile 9 was 1:11:40 I gained 5 seconds from the last mile, so I pushed it the rest of the way. The last 800 meters sucked going up hill, I lost all energy I had and felt like puking here, so I slowed down and I knew I had my 1:20 time in the bag, there was no need to push anymore. As I came across the line I made sure my bib was not visible, I did not want the announcer to say "Megan Johnston" looks like a dude!

Megan, you rock!!!  Did you wear a cute little running skirt?

Seriously, really impressive performance today... yeah, I'm thinking you need to shoot for at a maximum 1:14 for the Army 10-Miler.

Congrats!!!

I don't think he would have said "Megan Johnston looks like a dude."  He was more likely to have said "BikeintheMud looks like a girl!"  Nice run bro.
