Run
Comments: I started off easy and felt OK. I also made sure I was at the front of the corral so I could spend the 1st mile settling in rather zig zagging all over. 71:30 was my reach time and I was not sure if I could do it at first. I started to pick it up after Mile 1 and ran the next 4 miles at the same pace. I wanted to run 36:30 for the 1st 5 and did 36:35 so I was happy. I wanted to close in 35:00 and ran 34:58. I felt it the last 400m so I knew I gave it my all with little to spare. 1:50 under my previous PR so I was very happy. What would you do differently?: Not puke the second the announcer said my name!! :) Post race
Warm down: Waited for my girlfriend to finish. (She PRed too!) What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: I tend to shy away from big races but the corral system worked well in my case. The weather was ideal for racing and thankfully the rain stayed away for the most part. I would run this race again next year. Last updated: 2008-04-09 12:00 AM

A group of us stayed at the Crystal City Marriott. I woke up at 515 and searched for some food with no luck. So I showered and went back to the lobby and the sundries store was open. Nutrigrain, water and gatorade was the pre-race meal. On the Metro at 640 and at the race site by 700.
Very little. Used the porta-cans twice, hyped my girlfriend up and checked my bag. From there I jogged to the start area.
