Good Morning Donato, I am VERY psyched for the run.  I am flying in from Tucson and this will be the last marathon for me until next fall.  I will be staying in Aptos on Friday night, then going to the expo on Saturday AM then hanging out in the area the rest of the day. No plans yet, then stay in Carmel Saturday night  and hang out there Sunday.  I have been training to a 4:00 but plan to run a 4:15 +/- to enjoy the run, the view, the day... etc.

I enjoyed reading you write up on Oceanside.  I plan my first HIM later this later this year or more likely next year.  I started a couple of years ago post cancer, a short 50 something at 185 pounds and could not run a 5K.  I am now 147 pounds and running with you... it has been a road I relish but have taken slowly...  I will do an "Athletes for a cure" event of some kind when I hit five years cancer free.

I look forward to meeting you at the start... then watching you pull away and disappear into the distance...

I know there are more than just the two of us signed up, I hope I can say hello to some of them too.  I may wear my BT shirt for the race if there are a bunch of us.

Hope we cross paths.

Good Luck my friend,  Emerson

I was registered for the marathon, but then broke my arm in a bike crash March 1.  I had talked my mom into walking the 10.6 miler, so I'll be walking that with her instead.

Looking forward to it!

Ouch, I hope it is not too serious... A lot of my friends have crashed.  I have gotten almost paraniod about where I ride.  Hope you are better soon, Emerson

I had registered also, but I'll be having knee surgery instead.  I hope you all have fun!

I hope your knee recovers!  There used to be nine of us signed up at one point.  Now there are five.  Broken arm, knee surgery, should Donato and I start dodging falling safes?  Yikes.... I hope all of you recover soon... Emerson

Hi Emerson.  I left you a long inspire.  Hope to meet up with ya at the race.  Yes, we will have to dodge safes on the way there.  Nice that you're staying in Carmel.

I'm doing the Mt. Hamilton Challenge the day before so logistics will be very tricky for me -I need to drive down on Friday to get my race packet, do the ride all day saturday (which is why I need to grab my race packet on Friday), drive down afterward, and then do the marathon.  Yikes!

Shannon, sorry to hear about your bike crash and broken arm.  Glad to hear you will still be out there with your mom.  It should be a beautiful walk.

Kendra, sorry to hear about your knee.  Hope the surgery goes well.
