Would your wife walk the race with the LO? We got clearance for running around 4 mo. My daughter was a week late though. Our doc didn't want us to use the Burley until a year and with a winter birthday we waited a little longer.

Lestorke - 2012-08-08 5:48 AM I agree with those who say that a jogging stroller is best recommended for a baby who is already able to have a stable neck control/sit unassisted (around 8-12 m.o, the case is different for each baby, though). It's for your LO safety and security. Smile

The OP's kids are four years old now.  Probably too heavy to push - but I bet their heads don't bobble much anymore.

Slight hijack

I recommend you get the smart Stroll hands free belt. It allows you to continue to use your arms when you run. It also keeps you far enough away that you can keep natural form. I probably run 15 miles a week with a jogging stroller.

Here is  link to the product. I am not associated with the product or the vendor. (I don't remember if this is even the vendor I purchased it from)

Yeah, but if he's still on here, it would be neat to see a new picture. Smile

I noticed something was amiss when I saw vballmd's post that "I don't have kids yet..." when she now has one with another on the way.  ;-)

If you can use your car seat then you would be good to go.  Do you wait for them to be able to hold their head up when you are traveling 60mph in your car?  I realize this is "dad logic" and moms everywhere run and hide from it.....but I haven't hurt any of mine over the years.

Oh yeah, congrats on the twins....I have a set of identical girls.....watching them over the years has been a constant source of wonder.  Enjoy!

ETA - I guess I should look at the OP date too......or maybe I'll just call my kids and see how old they are....in case I've warped over or something.

I got a chuckle out of this, I have three kids.  I didn't read all the responses just some of them.  If the jogger drops back like many said, do that then just get swaddle blankets roll them up and wrap around the head like a horseshoe shape similar to the head stability inserts found in car seats.  That will help hold them still when you go up and down sidewalks and bumps.  Only you the parent can really answer the question though and common sense, manufactures will always error to ultra conservative to cover their butts, so they may say 7 months or whatever I think that is way older than necessary.  Maybe I'm a bit loose on these types of things, but I try not to be a helicopter parent and let my kids get bumps and scrapes and a bit dirty.  Builds charaterWink   By the way, in my 8 yrs as a paramedic and 5 as a firefighter I've never had infant baby jogger neck injuries to treat.  Just sayin'
