Subject: swim question
When a swim training says "400, 4 x 100, 300, 3 x 100, 200, 2x100" does this mean you are actually doing 2 400's, 2 300's, etc?

One is the total distance, the other is the set breakdown, if it was 2x it would be 1x400,4x100 or something like that. Typical ladder set.

Actually, if I wrote a set like that it would read:

1 x 400
4 x 100 (At a faster pace than the 400)
1 x 300
3 x 100 (At a faster pace than the 300)
1 x 200
2 x 100 (At a faster pace than the 200)

It's a great set! Have fun with it!!

x3 but I am curious, the X x 100's would indicate a rest interval.  I wonder what that would be?

The rest interval is probably stated in the plan. I would recommend 1 min rest after the long swims and an interval that gives you :15 rest after each 100. The 2 x 100's should be a few seconds faster than the 4 x 100's.

I think I am going to do this set my next swim! Thanks for the workout!!
