Good strong swim for me. Passed 3 or 4 people who were in front of me. Was not passed by anyone else.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Keep practicing swimming.
Transition 2
  • 00m 12s
Comments:

Just needed to remove my cap and goggles, and put on my running shoes.. well, slip them on. (Yankz). Was quick. Ran sockless. Was not an issue.

Run

Comments:

Course was longer than 5k. Trust me when I say that I did not run 3.1 miles in 24:38. 8:xx per mile.. nope. I was definietly in the 7's.
What would you do differently?:

Legs were not fully under me. Just ran 26.2 two weeks ago, and have some lung crud. Probably should have been around 22 ish.
Post race
Warm down:

FInshed, and chatted with kids and friends.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing really. I mean some things, but they are just excuses.

Event comments:

This is a nice pre-season tune up. If this was baseball, this would be spring training. The run course is not easy, and makes for a nice challenge. Plenty of opportunities to get the heart rate up there. Emory university Cycling and Tri team does a nice job with this. Loved the shirt. It's actually wearable. My guess is that a female picked it out and designed it. Minimal, and great color.

Nice job, Ron - looks like a good early-season finger-on-the-pulse test.  Congrats on the HW!
