Sure hope so I just bot the blue/black one yesterday

Seriously tho, this is one of those things that only you can answer. Incremental costs and all.

I used to think not. That they are for guys going for the podium, which I am not.

My view has changed since I'm doing an IM. I working hard to be the fastest I can be. If this helps, even marginally, then I'm going to give myself that advantage. Especially since it's basically the same price as a regular helmet.

It's also a lot easier to justify to the wife than dropping $3k on a new bike

Only you can determine if it's worth the money (as the relative cost will be different for you than any one else).

Are they effective at reducing drag? Yes. And in fact, the Giro tends to rank as one of the most effective. However, it's dependent on the person (how it fairs with the back, the person's particular position, etc). That gets into splitting hairs to me though.

But... Here's how I look at it: What gets you to riding faster? You believe that the gear helps you ride faster, so guess what? You ride faster. You BELIEVE. That belief can be stronger than the relative differences between helmets. There's an old Sylvester Stalone movie where he's a truck driver entering an arm-wrestling tournament. There's an interview in the movie where they ask about his hat, and he talks about how he turns it around, and when he does so, he becomes a machine.

Some people call it "game face", but putting on the gear and having the race wheels on the bike is what turns me into a machine.

You mean this game face?

To answer the OP, I have the Advantage 2 and love it. Does it make me faster? I dunno. But I look and feel faster.
