Comments: I am actually really pleased for my first-ever attempt at a 10K run. I surprised myself. I was *hoping* to go less than 55 min....but actually thought I would be closer to 60minince I battled two quad injuries, holidays and kids on spring break in Feb/March (which greatly affected my running training). And to respond to your comment on my RR, I don't think you would perpetuate the problem at all. If you're running at a speed that would indicate you were trying, it was actually no problem! It's just people who have yellow numbers that were literally walking from the very beginning! And yea it definitely sucked about the timing chip!! Oh well, I'll probably do the Pacific Spirit 10km to redeem myself! Awesome job though, for a first 10km that's pretty out-of-the-park :D |

I can't wait to see how close my 'official' time is! My bib number was 2907 if you want to verify ;-p As for the run - I never really felt I got *much* space....but being in the yellow group was MUCH better than the later groups....my BIL and my two boys ran/walked in the white group and they even bottle-necked BEFORE the finish....the crowd was so big between the chip removal and the finish line people couldn't even sprint over the finish! (that was about 11:00). |

took a lot of juggling/planning to get my boys together with their uncle to run in the white bib group, my youngest to a babysitter, and my older daughter to a birthday party. Not the least bit a 'stress free' morning. Would have been easier if husband was in town, but he is not.
just the pre-race warmup and some stretches.
