Subject: swim and bike fine, but running...

i just did my second sprint triathlon.  if there would have been clydesdale divisions, i would have been in them.  i am 6'3" 240 or so.  i have swam competitively for the last 14 years, i am 21, so that is pretty natural.  my 500 time is about 7:30.  i can bike all day long and keep my pace up, but running.... i know it is at the end of the race but a 12.5 minute mile pace, my goodness.  if all i do is run i struggle to keep it under a 10 minute mile pace. does anyone have any tips? i can run for miles but just not fast.  it has ruined my time in both of my tri's

thx

Well, it's really hard to make an kind of intellegent response... without seeing anything in your training log. Seriously, we can't say what you might need to do, without knowing what you are doing.

Maybe your run is slow because you don't run enough? Maybe it's slow because you don't ride enough? Maybe you race over your training level on the bike? If you go too fast on the bike, above your level in the race, your run can suffer.

Do you have pain associated with running? How long have you been running? Do you do bricks in training?

Blah-blah-blah... you get my point.

More details are needed. Thanks!
