Comments:

I was not fully prepared this year even though I beat last years time by a few minutes (2:47).

I had trained for most of the winter and up until the middle of march when training fell apart. Lost motivation and also found out that I am allergic to chlorine. I did an indoor swim in a chlorine poll and I had a bad reaction. this took a few weeks to recover from and I am still not 100% from it.

I felt strong for the first 6 miles then I started to loose my endurance. I could tell that my endurance was going to be my down fall. I was able to make the summit faster also 1:44:00.

I hit the wall around mile 11 and was able to work through it and was able to finish strong.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train more on hill mostly on the 3 miles before the top and get more long runs in.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around and visited. Waited in line for the bus for 45 minutes.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not having the endurance that I should have and lack of hill training

Event comments:

What a fun and painful race. I am still amazed that I have now done this race 2 times. It is one of the hardest races in the northwest, with 2500' gain and 1500' lose it is a beast. I need to some time show up to it and be ready for it.

Congratulations on conquering Robie Creek!  We sure lucked out on the weather, wouldn't you say?  You did a good job "running your kilt off" even with the training hiccups.
