Swim
Comments: Course was long.. I over swam a buoy and had to get back on course. Normal swim - felt uncomfortable, didn't like it much. I don't think my extra swimming the last few months did any good. What would you do differently?: Dunno.. Maybe not swim as much in training. Stay on course better. Transition 1
Comments: 13 overall 2 AG.. Everything was standard here. No issues with sitting down - since I am still pretty fast. Put shoes on with all the mud - not sure if this was the best idea. Though I did pass a bunch of people having serious issues getting in the shoes already on the bike. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Nice course. Lots of rain. Passed more than passed me. Happy with my bike. My new Elite seriously rocks. Though I was hesitant on some down hills with the new brakes (Zipp Vukas have much more "aggressive" brake levers). What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: OVerall 49 AG 10. Felt like I was moving in slow motion putting shoes on. Again sitting down. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Very happy with this run. I pushed and PUSHED HARD the entire run. Got to see Dck, Amy, BITM and Slake out on the course. Only passed by one other woman (but 100s of men ;)) and did pass one woman. Yay. Did a standalone 5k in oct of last year and did around 25 flat. Still not a PR but much closer. I felt near an asthma attack the entire run (and I don't have asthma) which tells me that I couldn't have gone harder. I knew during the run that there weren't many women ahead of me, so I better push it to ag place. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: None. It was cold. I was freezing. What limited your ability to perform faster: NOthing. Weather was bad, but it was bad for everyone Event comments: Excellent course, excellent race. Will do it, or the half every year. 2nd place in ag makes me very happy, even though it says much more about the competition than my performance. 63 women registered so I knew from before the start that it would take lots of luck to place in the ag, but I guess I was sufficiently lucky - and raced hard enough too :) Last updated: 2007-11-28 12:00 AM

Slept in - the race didn't start until 10.. Woke up to the many voices in the Kinetic House (12 total Bters, most who were racing - fun times). Headed over to the course in pouring rain. Some of us covered ourselves in trash bags, and attempted to setup transition area. Luckily I turned the trash bag inside out and used it to cover my stuff.. It was nice having relatively dry shoes/hat/stuff that got soaked within 5 mins anyways.
No warm-up in the crazy conditions. Did warm-up with some VAMDDCBTTC photo shoots. See my album.
