Who else is planning on doing this ride?  Also, anyone do this last year?  This will be first time, so I'm not sure what to expect.  Any advice or previews would be greatly appreciated!

Hey Kat!

I can't do it this year but I've done it in the past.  I would suggest either having people meet you there for a ride back or dirivng down the day before with a friend and leaving a car (that's what we did).  That way you can control when you leave and how your bike is treated.  The down side is you have to monitor your beer consumption  The ride itself is great.  It's rolling Texas hill country but no real hills to speak of.  The rest stops are great and as long as the weather holds, it's usually a blast to ride and talk with all the different people.  I was going to do it again this year but I commited to helping a friend with a benefit 5k on the same date in Georgetown.  Have fun!  The finish definately has a reward!!!!!!

Mom23 & I had our hearts set on riding, but we have to bow out due to a family commitment. We'll be marking our calendar for 2009 though! Have fun & somebody please consume the beers that were meant for me (I'd hate to see them go to waste)

How do you get back from Shiner to Austin? Especially with a bike.  I've got relatives in Austin and I'd consider coming down for the weekend.  But I'm not sure I can impose on them to drive to Shiner.

I'm doing it. Driving the van and bike trailer out for T3 that morning and then doing the course backwards until I meet up with some people. No beer for me since I'm driving the van with 15 stinky, dirty and drunk people in it.

Hey we're not going to be stinky or dirty... we might be drunk but that's cool.
