Pre-race routine:

Ate a bagel with PB at home, packed my bag and off to Madison. Parked close to the Kohl Center. Picked up packet, stretched, pee twice. Then back to car to drop off packet.
Event warmup:

Easy run and then walk to start area. Found one friend from La Crosse, then into wave area. Because of the large number of runners this race starts in waves (alphabetical). I was in wave N.

Comments:

WINDY< WINDY< WINDY. I am NOT aerodynamic by any stretch of the imagination. The wind was an opponent today. It never seemed to be at my back. I am very happy with my time considering the wind and the long hill. I really suck at hills.
What would you do differently?:

More hill training.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around the field to find another friend. Finally found him and had a great time talking and catching up. He ran the Boston Marathon on Monday in 3:39.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

WIND and 250 pounds.

Event comments:

Great event. Live music in the stadium, lots of volunteers and MORE PORTA POTTYS than any race I've ever been to. That was key since I peed a lot. I really had fun at this race. I will be a regular every year.

Great job! Way to not let the wind take control. Sounds like fun. I'm sure even more fun when the weather cooperates. (that's right this is Wisconsin, the weather never cooperates.)

Great job. I enjoyed myself as well, despite the wind. Wait, were we in Madison or Chicago? Keep up the good work and kill those hills....chin down, knees up
