Pre-race routine:

Dang! Just tried to stay warm! Ate a banana, bowl of cereal, and a powerbar first thing in the morning. Drank lots of water, then drove to Madison. Walked from the Kohl Center to Capital Square ( walked around it a couple times, and did some stretching.)
Event warmup:

Stretched, and stretched some more....
Run
  • 47m 43s
  • 4.97 miles
  • 09m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

Very windy and cold! The hills took me by surprise, especially downhill. I felt like I had very little control.
What would you do differently?:

Bring my own water bottle!
Post race
Warm down:

Walking and stretching alot at the field.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I had two goals, run the entire course, and have my mile time below or near 10 minutes. I met both!

WOO HOO!! Look at you meeting both of your goals!!!!  Great job with the continuous running AND being sub 10!!!  Was this the longest distance you have continually run?  Again...great job.  Time to start upping your run workouts to either be a bit longer, or just continually running!!  Cuz now you have blown your cover and shown that you CAN do it! Hahaha!!! Awesome!!

Great job. I too had the same goal of sub 10 min. miles. Sure was cold though, but it was neat to run with so many people.
Keep up the good work.l

Ha! Yes, my super secret agent cover is blown! And to be honest, I'm glad it is! Now I can push forward, as I've been told time and again. Thanks so much!
