I'm borrowing race wheels and an aero helmet, so I'm really excited to use those! As far as racing 70.3 miles, I guess I'm excited about that, too...

Just think ... by this time next week I'll be happily recovering in a hospital bed somewhere.

I have already told my well wishers to send flowers and liquids to KC memorial in my name the afternoon of the 15th.

Last bike ride this morning before heading out Thursday, mid 50s and 7% humidity. I am soo not ready for mid80s temp and humidity.

Just remember you have altitude on your side. It will help.

I am with you.  I rode this morning with arm warmers and was still chilled.  The Lawrence morning low temp was higher than today's expected high.

Well look at it this way -- if you're from anywhere cool, and there are lots and lots of us who are, you'll be in good company!

You know I say bring the heat. That way I have something to blame with I DNF.

Does anyone know the lake water temp? Will it still be wetsuit legal. I wore a wetsuit for the first time Saturday and I feel in love with the thing. Sure would hate to pass up the opportunity to use it again and spend the rent money for nothing. I was really surprised at how bouyant it made me. Strange how a peice of equipment can help boost your confidence too. This Time next week We'll all still be basking in the glory of the race run and sense of accomplishment acheived. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

I had another question. If the water temp is above 78* and below 84* and It's an option to wear a wetsuit and I'm not eligble for prizes or awards...Does that also include not being able to qualify for a place in the world championship age group? (As if I could I'm looking at about 6:45 to 7 hr finish)

Hmm...

If you do the bib numbers in numerical order...my guess is they're going to do waves in order of numbers.

It seems like an odd way to list 'em out.

So that's my guess.

I'm guessing reverse order since the relay teams (who have the highest bib numbers) are usually in the first wave. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I am 643.

I am arriving midday on Friday.  I hope to do a little recon of the bike course, and then I would definitely be up for a BT get together.

Are you sure these are right? I see my number at 979. And unless Tom changed his name recently and is from Prairie Village, Kansas, then I don't think that's him.

Meh. It was just a guess. We'll know in a few days for sure.

At IMCalifornia this year it went from lowest number to highest.  So if you are #400 you were in the first couple of waves.  There were 2200 people at that race and i was #1100 and was right in the middle of the waves.  Also, you could be in the same wave with different AG people.  I was in the same wave as the 50-55 men, (i am 18-24 men).  But we will all find out soon.  Thats just what happened at IMCali.
