nothing. I swam as hard as I could.

Not too shabby.

What would you do differently?:

Get a P3 and race wheels not sure I could have gone any faster without.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

For once, this was slower than T1! I ran right past my spot on the rack, then couldn't find it. oops. And I took the time to put on sunscreen. I"m not a floridian, so thats important.
Run
  • 59m
  • 6.21 miles
  • 09m 30s  min/mile
Comments:

well, so much for my ranking. Yes, my running splits always suck. That first mile...I'm sure it was 11 minutes. I really hurt, and then the leg began to open up a little. By mile 3 I felt a little better, but then by 4 I was starting to fade physically. It had been a long time since I had gotten to the race site (4 hours prior to swim almost!) and it was hot.
What would you do differently?:

get a new left leg!!!Massage
Post race
Warm down:

Massage! I actually had two people working on me. It was awesome. Not as good as day before, but adequate.t

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lacking the weaponry that everyone seemed to had, not being acclimated to heat, and a faulty leg, but not bad at all for a gimp.

Event comments:

I would HIGHLY recommend this race! I loved seeing the pros, loved seeing Sister Madonna on course, loved loved loved St. Pete area. Beauutiful run on Snell Island, right past multi-million dollar homes. Plus lots of fun with the pelicans and the BT Mafia in Florida. Made for great times. This is a great destination race!!!

sweet race, sounds like it was fun.  I am just scratching my head, trying to figure out how you finished 392nd in your AG out of 155 people.

Yeah, its really us Florida BTers that make the race so great.    I think the temp was closer to VERY HOT by the time you got out.  Maybe next year you can go out with the elite women.  All you need is a new leg and a P3.  I mean they had them at the expo, you could have bought yourself one.  Oh well.  Nice meeting you and good times this weekend.

Take care of that leg girl!!  I think some rest and more massage is in order for you.  Glad you had a good time and got to hob knob with the pros.   Way to go on the race!!!

We lived in Tampa for 7 yrs and I absolutely loved it!!  There's just something about warm weather and a year round tan.    Your report definitely makes me want to go back.

All right Amy! 2:47 is an awesome time!! It was so great to meet you- wish we could've gotten to chat more, but you were there to RACE, not socialize!

Hope to see you at another race - I'm not too far away from you, so we should plan a race or bike ride together one of these days...
