Don't swim alone!

If I'm alone, I swim along the shore at Spring Mill Pond...about 4 feet deep.

Hahaha.  All valid questions.  I'm Kimm, I come from Ferndale, and this will be my third A2 tri.  Anything else?

All you need to know is that she rocks.

Because she does.

And we have matching wetsuits, so that sorta ups the coolness factor in my eyes!

Someone drowned in the pond last year though, right?  So not so shallow!

I may pass up on the OWS this wednesday - I forgot my running shoes for my brick tonight, so I will be running tomorrow instead of swimming.

Oh crap - can I afford that?  I guess Thursday will let me know if I could or not.

Past the drop off, it's over 25 feet deep. They usually get a drowning a year out there. I swim along the shore, where it's shallow.

Edit: just an fyi, this is not meant as encouragement to others to swim alone. I just know what I can do, and what my safety limits are.

Does anyone know if they close the roads for the race? If not, there are a lot of blind curves, and if you have to go out to the middle of the road to avoid potholes, it can be a bit tricky

I worked the bike course last year -- NO, the do NOT close the roads.  There were a couple ya-hoos headed to the lakes out there annoyed with the racers.  I worked right around Mile 9 a right turn intersection, and will say when we saw a pack coming along -- vs. , say, one cyclist -- and there were cars coming up the opposite, we'd just stop 'em till the cyclists made the turn.

Overall most motorists were pretty good but you know how that goes......

Hey, her user name alone gives Kimm that distinction   Though I think some explanation of its provenance is warranted (for those of us not in the know)

Dang - I never would have thought based on the whole "Pond" name and all.  Is it weedy?

I am still on the fence for swimming tomorrow - I think that if the weather cooperates that I am going to do my missed brick (thank you rain!).

Not weedy at all, really clear water until busy summer days when it gets all stirred up.

The rain moved my trail run to today and my swim tomorrow. See whomever at Trout Lake thurs.

Now that sound sliek a nice place!

I will be at Maybury tonight - 6:30ish I think as I have to drop off flyers at my LBS before heading to the park - although I may be there as early as 6.  It is a crap shoot coming from Auburn hills!

The race is TOMORROW!!!!

I went for a quick 7 mile ride today to see how Sweet T is doing... she is shifting really hard but she shifts.  The legs were whipped the first mile.... holy cow I felt so out of shape!  But then I got into the groove.

I then bricked off a run and I can feel the bruising with every right step.  The Poto is going to be a lot of fun tomorrow!

My only goal is to finish with a smile!

I am heading out to the 101 meeting today, and then I will be leaving my house at 5:15AM - getting to the park a little after 6AM tomorrow.

I cannot wait to see everyone out there tomorrow!  Everyone hydrate today and let's get ready to RAWK!

I am ready to become a triathlete!
