Well, the site is having some issues off and on, so I finally contacted Amy Vogel and now am signed up to be a CATCHER from 5:30 to 9:30!!

I've informed Amy that I was interested in bike handling and some other stuff, too, but may need to remind her!

i think i woulda chose something easier, like say first baseman or something........

I'm going to need to meet a lot of people before hand.  Want to know who all these catchers are going to be when I come in bombed out and looking for assistance I can't wait to meet as many of you as I can.  Thank you very much for volunteering this year.

Hi all.  New to BT as of yesterday.

I volunteered the first time last year and it was a blast yelling "HARD-LEFT" as they came down a long decline and had to make a 70degree turn. No one caught the curb!  Even my then 9yo enjoyed it, and the police stationed with us said he was going to hear my voice in his sleep.

We are volunteering again this year, probably to be a "pointer" again since I have my daughter again through the swim and bike. (Don't think she's quite strong enough to strip the suits or handle bikes.)

Last year the website had problems with the sign up hours.  We were registered for 3 hours, but it scheduled us for 10! I hope it's fixed by the time I sign up.

Thanks for volunteering - it's more than appreciated, and welcome to BT!

Wow - all the finish line volunteer shifts are GONE already! I helped with getting the athletes kids out to run to the finish line with them last year. It was fun, but pretty chaotic - doesn't look like they're doing that this year. Two years ago we were on our boat helping out.

So, I'm going to help with registration on Friday and on the run course on Sunday - it's such an inspiring event - good luck to those of you in training!

I just got Danielle and I signed up to work the aid station that is at Verona High School from Noon to 4:45.  I am going to try to stay over night on Saturday so that I can get up and watch the swim start.

hey all you IM studs! What would be a good volunteer spot to catch the Donkai on the route? Im going to volunteer a shift in the Medical Tent (guess they need nurses etc), but would love to be out inspiring and helping on the road. (maybe a run location?)

I did the fleet feet run water stop last year and caught quite a few of the donkai there. Let's hope you don't catch any in the med tent.

The Head Marshall of the respective teams will place you where they need you the most, unless by chance if you tell them that you want a particular spot it might be open.  Usually the primo spots are taken by now.  I did Camp Randall for 2 years since I had the experience, and that was cool being in there by myself at the time singing and complimenting all those peeps.

Thanks for volunteering and have fun!

I'm going to be handing out gear bags early in the morning and then I'll be at the MLK turnaround from noon-4:00. Might pick up another later shift to motivate the 12 hour and beyond group. They're my favorite. :D
