Pre-race routine:

Up early - peanut butter - protein shack and good to go
Event warmup:

rode around the parking lot to get the legs going - the first day Saturday was cold and windy.

Comments:

The first day was rough with the cold and wind - crossing over the Damn at Ray Roberts was fun- the wind would blow so hard it would push into the other lane of traffic.
Sunday ride - hills - BBQ hill I was going so slow I thought I would fall over - tough but seeing the Ft. Worth City was motivation to push through it all.
What would you do differently?:

ride in the wind more, ride longer distances50 to 70 miles

Warm down:

Drank the free beer from our Sponsors St. Arnolds Brewery out of Houston.

Overall burned about 9000 Calories total for both days. Average almost 16mph for the event - great finish with all the people and bands.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Practice long routes of 50 to 70 miles

Event comments:

Plenty of volunteers - thanks to all the many people at all the breaks about 6 per day of race spaced about 10 to 15 miles apart.
