Pre-race routine:

Um, probably should NOT have drank the two margaritas along with chips and queso the night prior. But hey, they were tasty!

Alarm went off at 4:30, dressed and bodyglide-d though the next time I wear my running skirt to put copious amounts of BG on thighs. A bit of chaffing at the seams. Ow. Ate 1/2 a Clif-Z bar.
Event warmup:

Ha ha ha. Not exactly warm at the start. We woke at the butt-crack of dawn to meet the buses that took us to the start point up in the canyon. We were at the start 45 mins before we actually started and it was COLD. Like 30ish cold.

Comments:

I felt really good the entire race, well up until the last 1.5 miles. I took it easy the first hour and then when I realized that I could finish under 2 hours, I turned it on. The slight hill at mile 5 felt good and when I got to the water point at the top of the hill I decided to push. It felt good passing people :)
What would you do differently?:

I would have bought a cheap long sleeve tshirt to wear over a tank or short sleeve. Toss the LS when I got hot. I wore a light LS shirt, but would have been more comfortable with a tank.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked through the gauntlet and grabbed a water and headed towards the course to watch Becca and Megan come in. Becca finished in 2:03 and Megan a little bit after that. Stretched.

Event comments:

This was a great race, in a great town. Fort Collins just seems like a lot of fun :) Other than the waiting in the cold for the start, the race was great.

Good race. It is a bit chilly waiting around, but once the race starts the cool temps are a plus. Nice going on pushing hard through the end and going sub 2 hours.
